Finalists for Missouri

Voting has closed for the 2010 Missouri ABCTE Teacher of the Year.

Zach Miller

Seymour Middle School

“He is well respected by his students as well as his peers. In the past two years Mr. Miller has worked hard to get to know his students on an individual basis so as to be better able to serve their needs. His impact on their lives and our school is immeasurable. I can honestly say that Mr. Miller is truly an asset to our school district. He possesses a rare gift that would have never been realized without the ABCTE Program.

Timothy Pendleton

Chaminade College Preparatory School

“He is an alum of our school and he is also a current parent with two of his sons in attendance. He is an excellent teacher. Mr. Pendleton builds relationships with his students which inspires them study, work and achieve in his class. He helps them to develop a greater appreciation of science. He is dedicated to his students. He is a tremendously positive example of what a good teacher should be and a great example for the ABCTE program.

Joe Pistone

Ruskin High School

“Joe was a first year teacher in the science department. However, he exhibited none of the characteristics of a first year teacher. Joe was one of the five best teachers we had in our building last year, regardless of number of years of service. He is an example of how being prepared and building that trust with students are the two most important traits a teacher can have. I would love to have thirty more just like him in my building.
