Finalists for Idaho

Voting has closed for the 2010 Idaho ABCTE Teacher of the Year.

Chad Avery

Horizon Elementary School

“Chad has done an outstanding job as a first year teacher. His students have excelled on the (Idaho Reading Indicator) IRI and he has been very proactive in making sure that his students are receiving the interventions they need. He works hard to make sure that all of his kids have access to any resources we have available that they may need. He is a great team player and has been a great addition to our first grade team!

Julie Fast

Emmett Junior High School

“Julie goes above and beyond in duties and instruction in the area of Mathematics. She is a tremendous teacher and asset to Emmett Junior High. Her students scored above the 90% on their Idaho Standard Achievement Test (ISAT) this spring and it was due to her ability. Julie is a true gem in our educational setting and goes above and beyond in classroom.

Daniel Robertson

Filer High School

“ABCTE provided our school the opportunity to hire Daniel and we haven't looked back. Prior to Daniel's arrival Physical Science had a high failure rate. Students struggled with the curriculum and weren't engaged. Now when you observe Daniel's classes the students are engaged in the curriculum, they are provided a variety of instruction methods, and the Physical Science failure rate is nearly zero.
