The ABCs of Reading Instruction presents the different components and skill sets that are essential for reading acquisition and demonstrates proven, research-based techniques to help teachers apply these principles in their classrooms. The CD-ROM includes six different modules presented as a dynamic electronic textbook, weaving together graphics, animation, text, audio, and video to explain complex concepts in an innovative and engaging way. The workbook reinforces and expands upon the instructional components introduced in the CD-ROM and includes reading lesson plans and classroom handouts. The ABCs of Reading Instruction was designed by the American Board as a preparation tool for both the Multiple Subject and Reading Endorsement exams. The CD-ROM is Windows and Macintosh compatible.
