Exam Preparation
- An Introduction to Trigonometry
On a single webpage, Claeys manages to summarize most of the important topics of trigonometry. Follow the link at the bottom of the page to see numerous solved example problems based on those topics.
- Dave's Short Course in Trigonometry
Especially strong at establishing the geometric foundation of trigonometry, this site introduces most of the major trigonometric theorems and proves the majority of them. All of the figures on the site are generated with a Java applet, so if you are using a Java-enabled browser (such as recent versions of Internet Explorer or Netscape), you can click drag points in the diagrams to modify them, and the labels and measurements of the diagrams will adjust themselves automatically.
- Khan Academy
The Khan Academy is a not-for-profit organization with the mission of providing a high quality education to anyone, anywhere.
They have 800+ videos on YouTube covering everything from basic arithmetic and algebra to differential equations which have been recorded by Salman Khan.
This resource comes highly recommended from ABCTE's Math forum: http://www.abcte.org/forum/2926/.
- Mathematics Refresher Course
Accessible via the Internet, ABCTE’s Mathematics Refresher Course contains more than 300 pages of material and was designed to help you review your knowledge for the mathematics exam. The course is self-paced, allowing you to dedicate more time to material that needs intense review and skip over material you already know. The course incorporates animated tutorials and activities, chapter quizzes, detailed lessons and illustrations, and a video demonstration component.
Enrolled candidates can access the course through http://www.abcte.org/courses/mathematics/index.html using their ABCTE username and password.

- Precalculus
Precalculus thoroughly explores topics in algebra, trigonometry, and analytic geometry, and all the examples, applications, and exercises have been selected for their relevance to calculus. The trigonometric functions are introduced first in terms of the unit circle approach and then using right triangles. The text includes over 6,000 exercises that accommodate a variety of teaching and learning styles, plus a number of contemporary, real-life applications.
- Straighterline Pre-Calculus Course
Straighterline offers an online Pre Calculus course that provides a working knowledge of precalculus and its applications. It begins with a review of algebraic operations. Emphasis is on solving and graphing equations that involve linear, polynomial, exponential, and logarithmic functions. Students learn to graph trigonometric and inverse trigonometric functions and learn to use the family of trigonometric identities. Other topics include conic sections, arithmetic and geometric sequences, and systems of equations.
- The Math Page
This site is run by a professor at Manhattan Community College in New York and includes lessons on: Skill in Arithmetic, Plane Geometry, Skill in Algebra, Topics in Trigonometry, Topics in Precalculus and Topics in Calculus.
- Trigonometry
All basic topics in Trigonometry are covered with an emphasis on illustrations and examples that treat elementary trigonometry as an outgrowth of geometry, but stimulate the reader to think of all of mathematics as a unified subject. The definitions of the trigonometric functions are geometrically motivated—geometric relationships are rewritten in trigonometric form and extended. The text then makes a transition to a study of the algebraic and analytic properties of trigonometric functions, in a way that provides a solid foundation for more advanced mathematical discussions.
- Trigonometry Demystified
This text provides a painless way to learn the fundamentals and general concepts of trigonometry. It uses prose and illustrations to describe the concepts, offers questions at the end of each chapter and section, and includes a 100-question self-test.
