Linear Algebra and its Applications

Linear algebra is relatively easy for students during the early stages of the course, when the material is presented in a familiar, concrete setting. But when abstract concepts are introduced, students often hit a brick wall. Lay introduces the abstract concepts of linear algebra in a familiar, concrete setting, develops them gradually, and returns to them again and again throughout the text.

Linear Algebra Toolkit

An exhaustive set of on-line computational tools you can use to solve systems of equations, transform systems into Gauss Jordan matrices, perform row operations, transform a matrix into reduced row echelon form, calculate inverse matrices, and more. Although the American Board standards require you to perform these and other operations by hand, this is an excellent resource to help you double check your work as you review, because it works out any problem step by step, explaining each step along the way.
