Exam Preparation
- Chemguide
This site reviews chemistry topics and includes a searchable index.
- Chemical Formulas Review
Discusses four chemical naming systems, when to use them, and how to write out chemical formulas.
- Chemistry: The Science in Context
Throughout this text, the chemistry skills, concepts, and facts standard to the general chemistry course are introduced, but within the context of broader scientific questions and societal applications. The website complements the text or can be used as a stand alone learning resource. It includes engaging animated tutorials and interactive practice exercises.
- Electrochemistry
Provides a review of electrochemistry including information on electrochemical reactions and electrolytic cells in addition to practice problems.
- Free Rice
FreeRice has two goals: provide education to everyone for free and help end world hunger by providing rice to hungry people for free. Choose to answer questions related to art, chemistry, English grammar, English vocabulary, geography and basic math. If you get a question right, you get a harder question. If you get it wrong, you get an easier question. For each answer you get right, the site will donate 20 grains of rice to the United Nations World Food Program.
- Fusion Basics
The Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory (PPPL) is a collaborative national center for plasma and fusion science. The Laboratory is managed by Princeton University for the U.S. Department of Energy, Office of Science. An associated mission for PPPL is to provide the highest quality science education in fusion energy, plasma physics, and related technologies.
- Gas Laws
This website discusses the gas laws and includes detailed examples as well as practice problems.
- Organic Chemistry OnLine
This tutorial consists of five modules on organic chemistry covering: structure, bonding, spectroscopy, stereochemistry, and functional group reactions.
- Periodic Table
This interactive periodic table from the American Chemical Society includes physical data and shows graphical representation of that data.
- Quantum Mechanics
This website includes a definition of quantum mechanics and covers additional topics such as terminology, mathematics and additional internet resources.
- Solutions
Chemtutor begins with the fundamentals and gives expert help with the most difficult phases of understanding your first course in chemistry. This section of the site focuses on solutions.
- Stoichiometry
This website discusses the process of balancing chemical equations, the mole, molecular formulas and other relevant topics. It also includes practice problems.
- Stoichiometry and Balancing Chemical Equations
Describes how to write balanced equations and provides work problems.
- The ABC's of Nuclear Science
The ABC's of Nuclear Science is a brief introduction to Nuclear Science. It looks at antimatter, beta rays, cosmic connection and much more.
- The Nobel Prize in Chemistry
The Nobel Prizes in Chemistry reflect the discoveries and achievements that have resulted from investigations of matter and the processes of life during more than 100 years. Starting with the 1901 prize to Jacobus H. van't Hoff, these collective accomplishments have not only increased our understanding of chemical processes and their molecular basis, but also lie behind much of the technological advancements we enjoy today.
- WebElements
WebElements contains a lot of useful information relating to the periodic table.
