Demand for High-Need Subject Area Teachers

Sometimes a member of the press will ask us why we’re recruiting aspiring teachers into our teaching certification program or into our teaching scholarship program in areas that are seeing teacher layoffs.

Solving Problems By Improving Education

Today, Newsweek asked people: "In 6 words, tell us your thoughts on the American educational system." I submitted: "Improving it will solve many problems."

Teach & Inspire Scholarship Application Deadline Approaching

If you're interested in teaching in a high-need school and subject in Florida, Mississippi or South Carolina, Teach & Inspire provides accepted participants with a full scholarship and materials needed to become certified teachers through the ABCTE program. Once ABCTE certification is obtained, candidates are eligible for an additional $1,000 stipend for completing classroom observations.

Donate to help a Teacher

Greetings!

ABCTE has issued over 2,000 teaching certifications to date and made incredible progress. So many of these teachers have sent us great success stories from the classroom and they describe how happy they are to have made the decision to pursue a career in teaching.

Teaching Scholarships

The next deadline to apply for the ABCTE Teach & Inspire Scholarship Program is this Friday, December 11. The program covers the cost of teaching certification for accepted candidates who agree to teach for three years in high-need schools and subjects in Florida, Mississippi and South Carolina. Participants are also eligible for a $1000 stipend once they've completed the certification program. Watch this video of Dave to learn more.

Cyber Monday Results

As you may know, yesterday was Cyber Monday and we ran a promotion at ABCTE, giving people $150 off our teaching certification program if they enrolled by midnight using the CYBERMONDAY discount code.

This was the second year we’ve run this promotion. In 2008, we came up with the idea very last minute, sending out an email and issuing a quick press release on our website. We saw 14 people take advantage of the 2008 Cyber Monday offer, which gave them $100 off our $850 teaching certification program.
