We sent the following out in an email yesterday:

As we’ve written before, high need subjects and schools are the places teachers are needed most. Even during times of layoffs or budget cuts, we’ve found there are still districts looking for teachers in these areas.

If you heard a collective sigh of relief from the education reformers in the world, you heard correctly. Linda Darling-Hammond (LDH) will not be joining the US DOE citing family reasons. Her daughter is ill and, as a dad, I will keep them in my thoughts.

It is appropriate for the blogosphere to recognize the transformation in DC right now. Since our birth occurred during the Bush era I am often asked how we will fair with the new administration. The answer apparently lives at: http://www.whitehouse.gov/agenda/education/
