Moving on

As many of you know, I will be moving on next week to the American College of Education. For those that I have followed this blog, please continue to follow as the ABCTE team will keep you informed on education reform.

For those that wish to continue to follow me, please go to my new blog on Virtual Learning. I have moved over and will keep you posted on our progress to increase educational access for all!!

Thanks!
Dave Saba

Thank you!

Today is the day for ABCTE, we are officially on our own. It was about four years ago that I became the President and things were definitely not as rosy. We had lost our grant in Congress and we had to run around working to get our funding back in the spending bill. The press was not kind to us because of some issues with our board and it had been a while since a new state had accepted us.

Fluff no more

Multiple posts today because there is just so much going on in education. The first concerns a great discussion at Joanne Jacobs' blog on New York City’s teacher and student requirements. The post is definitely worth a read as are the comments.

Randi is Right

I keep wondering what is going on when I keep agreeing with the teacher’s unions. Randi Weingarten, who I have not quite figured out, had this to say about National Standards at a hearing on the Hill. From the Alliance for Excellent Education newsletter:

3 minute interview today

Yay Examiner - gave us a nice interview - always helps when a TFA alum is interviewing you on alternative teacher certification.

Best restaurants in state capitals

I have a second blog. It has the same content with one exception - the other blog has my running tally of the best restaurants in state capitals. I have now been to 28 different state capitals in the last 2 ½ years and had some pretty great food. I highly recommend Leo’s BBQ in Oklahoma City if you are ever there and save room for the amazing cake at the end. So enjoy this list and provide comments if you wish.
