ABCTE Price Change

Due to heavy call volume, we have extended the old price of $975 through Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at 11:59 PM ET. This is a hard deadline, however, and the old price will not be extended past that date and time, with no exceptions. Please consider enrolling before June 2, as we anticipate busy phones again the closer we get to the deadline.

ABCTE Price Change Details
ABCTE has determined that we must increase the price of our program in order to cover the actual cost. Effective immediately, standard ABCTE certifications will go up to $1995.

In most states, this still leaves ABCTE priced below any other certification option. And, as a recent U.S. News & World Report article featuring ABCTE pointed out, most alternative programs, according to the National Center for Alternative Certification, "cost on average between $5,000 and $6,000 and usually take two years to complete."

Important Things to Note
1. Anyone already on our mailing list has been given until June 2 to enroll at the old price of $975.

2. Current candidates already enrolled in the program will not be impacted.

3. ABCTE is in the process of developing a financial aid program to make the program more accessible for those who can not afford ABCTE at the new price.

Why We Are Making This Price Change
ABCTE has always been priced below what it actually costs the organization to put someone through our program. We were able to do this because of the grant money the organization received when the program was founded. But, in order remain financially stable in the coming years now that the grant money has expired, we must raise our price.

New prices for ABCTE
ABCTE Teaching Certification: $1995.00 (with exception of History, which is $1595.00)

Adding an additional certification area: $775
Reading certificate: $695

ABCTE Mentoring Program: $595
ABCTE Certification plus ABCTE mentoring program: $2395 ($1995 for History)

Other Program fees
Subject area change after taking exam: $775
Subject area change before taking exam: $195

All other program fees remain the same.
