don't waste your time or
don't waste your time or money. I purchased two of these and and they didn't help at all with the ptk. just another gimmick from the folks at abcte and their friends to rip off hard working people.

Please see the PTK Writing Component workshop to see how to use your text editor and Word if you choose not to use the Vantage product (it is okay if you choose not to). Some people find this product useful for its grammar and spelling check and to get an idea of if they are ready.
Note that the grading is on a 1-3 scale instead of a 1-6 scale on purpose. We don't want people to think that if they got a 4 that they would be ready. In the Vantage product if you are getting a 3 then you have a good chance.

Fairly useless. Test is
Fairly useless. Test is scored on a 1 to 3 scale rather than a 1 to 6 scale and there is no information on how these scores compare to each other. Another fun fact is if you copy the ABCTE example that is considered to be a 6 score into one of the tests, it will only receive a score of 2.
This is useful product if
This is useful product if you're looking for a fresh prompt to write about within the 1 hour time limit. They only give you 2 new prompts to write about, the 3rd prompt is "open" meaning that there is no senerio presented, so it was useless to me. The scoring is really useless too. I kept getting a score of 2 (took the 3rd retake and I just fould out that I finally passed with a 4). I found the thesaurus to be of some use too (Although I could have probably googled it and found the same info after a little searching around). Si if you need help with grammar rules such as comma placement or sentence structure, this is not an appropriate product. If you are looking for new prompts to write about, this provides two new ones. In the end, I believe this product was helpful in my situation.

The scoring rubric was very confusing. I really wanted feedback, feedback, feedback! But I didn't get it here.
I agree the scale is not
I agree the scale is not helpful. I have received a 2 each time and cannot figure out what I am doing wrong. Therefore, I need feedback & the fact that it only takes 60 seconds to score??? The first attempt was horrible because I wanted to see what the score would be. It was a 2. So, I actually worked hard on the other 2 submissions and still received a 2. This site is not helpful. Do not waste your $20.
