General financial support to the American Board will enable the continuation of our current services as well as the development of future programs.
Your contribution will support the following:
- Teacher Recruitment Events – In partnership with school districts, these events help publicize the teacher shortage and focus on moving career-changers into the classroom
- Secondary Reading Certificate – A certification program designed for all middle and high school teachers, enabling them to provide reading instruction in the context of their subject
- Foreign Language Certification – A significant shortage area in the United States that could be alleviated if ABCTE were able to add this certification to its subject offering
- Research – Independent research that focuses on longitudinal comparison and random assignment studies for evaluation of the ABCTE programs
- Professional Development – The ABCTE teacher development programs are some of the best on the market and will now be available to all educators throughout the country
- State Expansion – Support for adding additional states to those already recognizing ABCTE programs
- Distinguished Teacher – Additional certification for veteran teachers who perform at a distinguished level on various criteria; funding is needed to further develop this program and provide rewards for teachers who complete this rigorous certification
