ABCTE Blog and Social Media

The blog has undergone a couple of changes but, before I write anything else about that, I want to take a minute to recognize Dave Saba, our former CEO who has been blogging here in this space for the last few years.

Among the many things Dave accomplished at ABCTE was growing this blog into a great communication tool for our organization. He posted here regularly, keeping people informed about education news and helping to get out the message about what we're working to accomplish.

We’re grateful to Dave for all the work he did for ABCTE and, as he now heads to Dallas to pursue a new opportunity with the American College of Education, several of us will be taking on the job of blogging here.

New Icons to Your Right

You may have noticed some changes on the right side of the blog. In addition to updating the blurb describing this blog, we’ve added some icons. From left to right under "Stay Connected," the icons are for Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn, the ABCTE Circular and the RSS Feed for this blog.

Social media has become very important to us. We now have over 650 people following us on Facebook and interacting with us on our wall, posting questions and comments that we’re then responding to. We also have close to 900 people following us on Twitter and our YouTube channel contains video of our staff and teachers that have been viewed over 8,000 times. If you’re using LinkedIn, our group has 60 members so far and you can network there with other career-changers and education professionals.

The fifth icon is for the Circular, one of our monthly newsletters that remains a great way to keep up on what's happening at ABCTE. We keep you informed about ABCTE events, special promotions, new resources, teaching job opportunities and more.

Finally, the last icon is for our RSS feed, which allows you to follow our blog posts in Google Reader or using various news aggregators. So, you can subscribe to the feed or check back here often for new content. Thanks for reading!
