Teacher Quality - a fantastic summary

I am late in blogging about this, but here is an excellent summary of the impact of public policy on teacher quality by Brooke Terry from the Texas Public Policy Foundation. I am a big fan of Brooke’s work because she is not a think tank person – she gets out and goes to the meetings and really works hard to advocate for students at all levels.

In this case she does a very thorough analysis of the different areas that affect teacher quality and provides research based recommendations on how to move forward. If you are working on teacher quality, this is a great start so that you can have all the research you need in one place from statistically defining the problem to researched solutions.
