2,000 Certifications!

ABCTE teachers are a pretty amazing and independent group and it is always gratifying to meet them. This week we issued our 2,000th ABCTE certification to Heather Herd of Branson, Missouri who received her certification in math. A former controller, she is currently substitute teaching and will soon begin looking for a full-time teaching position.

"I chose ABCTE because the traditional way of getting certified was going to take two years if I went full-time, cost $8,000 and it would have taken an hour each way to drive to the college campus," said Herd. "Because I have a family, it wasn’t feasible,"

Heather is typical for ABCTE teachers. A mid-career professional who wanted to teach but could not afford the cost and the time required to go through standard routes. It is incredible to see people like Heather realizing their dreams through our program and knowing that we are helping to alleviate the critical shortage of math teachers in our schools.
