More Movement

A pretty great day in the world wide webisphere for ABCTE. First, our humble little blog is named to the Top 100 blogs for teachers by Clear View Education. So our sincere thanks for that.

Second, it is great to see a teacher come out in favor of the proposed teacher certification changes in Indiana. A true common-sense editorial to help keep things in perspective which seems to be rare in education these days.

Always a good day – now off to the stakeholders meeting on ARRA over at the USDOE to hear about RTTT funding. And I thought the Navy overused abbreviations and acronyms. Perhaps Congress should create a separate OFEDAB – the Office of Education Abbreviations.

I would strongly urge anyone

I would strongly urge anyone NOT TO USE THIS PROGRAM. I have been enrolled and am working on the alternative certification for Special Education. I have taken the PTK twice and failed the written portion twice.
The reality of it is that I did the majority of my course work on line through a reputable university, AND passed both PRAXIS II tests required by the state of Idaho. I have asked for additional tutoring so that I can pass the test and received NONE. THEY WON'T SEND YOU A COPY of your tests so that you can see what you have done wrong. What they WILL DO is take your money for the program as well as the retests.
The additional practice tests that you can by are of no additional use. Yes, they provide some practice, but don't really prepare you for the written portion.
When I signed up for the program, I was under the impression this was a quality program. I am left with misgivings and doubt. As of yet, NO ONE from this organization will contact me back or answer my email.
